RHEA continues to grow, and we are looking to add a Finance and Accounting Manager to the team.
The role of the Finance and Accounting Manager will be to supervise all accounting and financial operations for all companies within the group. The role requires an in-depth accounting background (including completion of financial statements and tax returns) and requires a strong focus on process improvement & tool selection while continuously promoting compliance with both regulatory and internal company policies and procedures.
This position requires a solid knowledge of accounting and financial principles and procedures as well as experience with integrated management software (ERP) and accounting systems.
This is a hybrid position, operating out of RHEA’s offices in either Ottawa or in Montreal, and reports trot he Director of Finance.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Plan, organize, manage, and control the activities of the accounting department (accounts receivable, payable, payroll, treasury, and monthly closings).
- Coordinate and prepare monthly financial reports and statements and performance measures.
- Prepare, in collaboration with the management team, the annual budget, forecasts, financial analyses, and strategic business plans.
- Develop accounting and financial policies and procedures.
- Keep management informed on the company’s financial performance.
- Train and manage staff.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
The following education and credentials are mandatory:
- Minimum of 15 years’ relevant professional experience.
- Experience in revenue recognition, cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, and statutory accounting.
- Experience in operational and strategic-level accounting.
- Holds a relevant credential in accounting (CPA, CMA, etc.)
- Must qualify for a Government of Canada security clearance
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Bilingual in English and French
- Any additional experience
Working Conditions
- Employment Status: This is a full-time, permanent role
- Location: This is a hybrid role based in either Ottawa or in Montreal
- Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 annually, plus additional benefits.
