We are seeking a Senior Accounting Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience to oversee the full accounting cycle. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. They will also be responsible for bank reconciliations and government remittances.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Managing the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Performing bank reconciliations and monthly tax reports.
- Assisting with monthly and annual closings.
- Producing various financial reports and ensuring rigorous follow-up of accounting operations.
- Collaborating with the team on ERP implementation and optimizing accounting processes.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
The following education and credentials are mandatory:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- College diploma (DEC) in Accounting.
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Must qualify for a Government of Canada security clearance
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including management of the full accounting cycle.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and strong team spirit.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience with Odoo
Working Conditions
- Employment Status: This is a full-time, permanent role
- Location: This is hybrid, with on-site requirements at our office (either in Montreal or Ottawa).
- Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000 annually as a baseline, plus benefits & 3 weeks’ vacation.
